Under the general supervision of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Basketball Coach provides support and assistance of the intercollegiate Basketball program, but is not limited to the following aspects; preparation of training/practice sessions, pregame organization and scouting reports, team travel arrangements, recruiting, managing recruiting database or Front Rush Recruiting Program, assist with recruiting tours of the University, assist toward instruction/knowledge of the college Basketball game, and professional communication in regards to the Coaching staff and individual players.
In cooperation with the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach develops and maintains a system to identify potential recruits and to work closely with area high school and travel coaches to recruit quality student-athletes to Stevenson University;
Works in conjunction with the Head Women’s Basketball Coach to encourage the development of psychological, social, and mental skills necessary for the student-athlete to be successful in the classroom, on the field, and in future endeavors;
Assists with scheduling for practices and competition, interfacing with administrators and representatives from other schools.
Monitors the conditioning and training of student-athletes working closely with Strength Coach and Athletic Training staff;
Assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach by informing captains and individual players of their responsibilities, duties, roles, etc.
Works with the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in developing line-ups, games strategies, and individual workout and practice needs for various student-athletes;
Serves as a role model for the student-athletes by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct;
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with team to scheduled events.
Participates in clinics, exhibitions, and camps, as approved;
Represents the Department at professional, civic, charitable, and alumni events, as requested;
Represents Stevenson University at various local events, throughout the community;
Cooperates with Stevenson University athletic personnel for efficient utilization of shared facilities;
Assists with fundraising opportunities and budget preparations;
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Head Coach
