The position of Health and Physical Education Department (HPED) Faculty/Head Women’s Basketball Coach reports to the HPED Lead Faculty/Athletic Director who reports to the Vice President for Learning and Instruction. Expectations in conjunction with this appointment include, but are not limited to, professionalism in behavior; integrity in all matters, particularly in adherence to the college’s mission; following all institutional policies and procedures; and supporting the vision of MSCC’s administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, up to 15 hours of instruction per semester, assessment of student learning, participation in student retention, service on college committees, and other duties as assigned.
Expectations as Head Women’s Basketball Coach include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of a successful intercollegiate women’s basketball program, managing day-to-day operations, recruiting and retention of academically- and athletically-qualified student-athletes, implementation and operation of a conditioning program, practice and game-day preparation, scheduling, scouting opponents, compiling and reporting game statistics, budget management, supervising assistant coach and staff, assisting with fund raising, ensuring adherence to institutional and NJCAA rules and regulations, supporting the vision of the MSCC Athletic Department, and other duties as assigned. This position must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, media, alumni, and boosters while interacting successfully with department personnel and the College community. Work assignments will include evening, weekend and holiday hours.
